2016 RAM 1500 Dashboard Warning Lights
A warning light tells you which system requires attention, but it does not by itself identify a failed part. Read the exact symbol and accompanying message.
Confirm the engine, trim, drivetrain, market and installed equipment before using a part number, capacity or repair procedure.
Red warnings first
Oil-pressure, charging, brake and over-temperature warnings can require stopping promptly. Refer to the owner’s manual for the required response to each symbol.
Amber warnings
Check-engine, ABS, traction and tire-pressure warnings call for proper code reading and system checks. Clearing a code without diagnosis can hide a recurring problem.
Use the correct model-year manual and current service information. Stop if instructions or safety precautions are unclear, and use a qualified technician for work you cannot verify.
