2016 RAM 1500 Blown Fuse Troubleshooting
Replace a blown fuse only with the same type and amperage. A second failure means the underlying electrical fault needs diagnosis.
Confirm the engine, trim, drivetrain, market and installed equipment before using a part number, capacity or repair procedure.
First checks
Turn ignition and accessories off. Verify the correct cavity and inspect the fuse with an appropriate tester rather than judging solely by appearance.
Avoid unsafe shortcuts
Never bridge a fuse with wire or install a larger rating. Those shortcuts defeat circuit protection and can cause fire or component damage.
Use the correct model-year manual and current service information. Stop if instructions or safety precautions are unclear, and use a qualified technician for work you cannot verify.
