2016 RAM 1500 Spark Plugs

The 5.7L HEMI uses 16 spark plugs, two per cylinder. The 3.6L V6 uses a different arrangement; the diesel engine has no gasoline spark plugs.

Check your configuration

Confirm the engine, trim, drivetrain, market and installed equipment before using a part number, capacity or repair procedure.

Reference specifications

EngineIgnition parts
5.7L HEMI V816 spark plugs; two per cylinder
3.6L Pentastar V66 spark plugs; one per cylinder
3.0L EcoDiesel V6No gasoline spark plugs

Exact Mopar plug number, gap, torque and superseded part numbers require a VIN-matched current catalogue and service procedure. Do not substitute a generic plug solely by thread fit.

Why HEMI parts lists look unusual

A V8 with two plugs in each of eight cylinders means ordering one eight-plug set is not sufficient. Confirm the exact plug part number and current Mopar supersession by VIN.

Replacement considerations

Use the correct spark-plug specification and torque from current service information. Ignition coils, boots and connector routing must be handled carefully to avoid introducing misfires.

Misfire after replacement

If a misfire appears immediately after service, inspect coil connectors, boot seating and wire routing before assuming a new plug is defective. Do not keep driving with a flashing check-engine light.

Before working on your vehicle

Use the correct model-year manual and current service information. Stop if instructions or safety precautions are unclear, and use a qualified technician for work you cannot verify.
