2016 RAM 1500 Oil Filter
Oil filters are not interchangeable across the 3.6L Pentastar, 5.7L HEMI and 3.0L EcoDiesel. Select by the VIN and engine rather than the model year alone.
Confirm the engine, trim, drivetrain, market and installed equipment before using a part number, capacity or repair procedure.
Choosing the right filter
The 3.6L uses a cartridge-style filter in its filter housing, while the 5.7L HEMI uses a spin-on filter. Filter designs and service procedures differ substantially.
Before you install it
Compare the replacement with the removed filter, check seal and gasket placement, and follow the maker’s installation instructions. A wrongly seated seal can cause a rapid oil leak.
Use the correct model-year manual and current service information. Stop if instructions or safety precautions are unclear, and use a qualified technician for work you cannot verify.
