2016 RAM 1500 Serpentine Belt Routing
Belt routing differs between the Pentastar V6, HEMI V8 and EcoDiesel. Use the routing decal or verified engine-specific service diagram before removing the belt.
Confirm the engine, trim, drivetrain, market and installed equipment before using a part number, capacity or repair procedure.
What to record
Photograph the existing path around the crank pulley, alternator, tensioner and accessories before releasing tension. Never infer routing from a different engine image.
When to stop
Cracked ribs, fraying or repeated belt throw can indicate tensioner or pulley problems. If the drive belt is missing, charging and other accessory functions may be lost.
Use the correct model-year manual and current service information. Stop if instructions or safety precautions are unclear, and use a qualified technician for work you cannot verify.
