ELECTRICAL & FUSES
2016 RAM 1500 No-Start & Starter Problems
Separate a no-crank condition from an engine that cranks normally but will not start. The next checks are different.
Confirm the engine, trim, drivetrain, market and installed equipment before using a part number, capacity or repair procedure.
No crank
Inspect battery charge, terminal connections, gear-selector position and starter-control faults. Repeated clicking often suggests voltage or connection trouble but is not conclusive.
Cranks but does not fire
Check security messages, fuel supply and diagnostic codes. Avoid prolonged cranking, especially where fuel or electrical damage is suspected.
Use the correct model-year manual and current service information. Stop if instructions or safety precautions are unclear, and use a qualified technician for work you cannot verify.
